isn’t traveling an attempt to dissolve our own perspective, our own personal history (or our view on this history) within a framework of bigger narrative, or maybe the absence of one narrative in the cacophony of hundreds of thousands different voices internationally telling and perceiving their (own) stories and impressions?

and if this were true – wouldn’t the walled-in, isolated, non-travelling eastern germans have been the masters of perception? and why than did ever they print postcards?
